HAIR SYSTEMS

Let’s not beat about the bush, we used to call them by different names. Wigs, toupees and hairpieces – now the hair loss industry likes to call them hair systems. Call them whatever you will, but the principle is always the same: synthetic or human hair fibres attached to a base, the base then attached in some manner to the bald scalp.

The base of a hair replacement system is the foundation which sits directly onto your scalp and in turn acts as the source of hair. Specifying the correct base materials is essential for comfort, realism and durability.

We explain the difference between our two main base types below.

Lace Front Hair Systems

Lace Front Hair Systems, (also known as Combination Hair Systems), are the preferred choice for clients wanting a natural hairline and longevity. If you’re rough with your hair but want a natural looking front hairline, then this type of system is perfect for you.

The lace front is for a natural looking hairline and a more durable material is used for the rest of the system. Therefore, these hair systems are a mixture of skin, lace and conventional materials.

They can be worn daily and attached to your head 24/7 for usually at least 3 weeks before it has to be removed, washed and stuck back on again. They can also last up to around 12 months.

Lace Hair Systems

Also known as French Lace Hair Replacement Systems or Silk Lace Hair Replacement Systems, the lace used is similar to nylon stockings that are extremely hard to see when placed against the skin. The hair is knotted into the lace and appears to grow right out from the scalp. The front area creates an amazing natural looking hairline.

You can have any hair style with these hair systems and they can be worn daily and attached to the head for up to 3 weeks.

We suggest this base material for the lightest weight, breathable, and natural looking hair replacement. The delicate base means two to three hair systems will be needed per calendar year based on extended wear.

Undetectable Hairline

All our lace front hair systems have an undetectable hairline because of the unique and incredible way they are made. Each strand is tied to the lace one by one and each knot is dyed so that you can’t see it between the base and your scalp.
